January 27, 2012

We woke up to a cloudy morning with a forecast of continued clouds until late afternoon. One of us slept in until after 8:00 a.m. We decided to go out for a big breakfast today and didn't finish eating until almost 10:00 a.m.

We drove around town for a while and did a little shopping. We saw this interesting business and think the name is funny!

We decided that this would be a good day to catch an early movie. I had been wanting to see War Horse for quite some time and we found a theater that had a 12:15 p.m. show. We were totally shocked when we arrived and found the parking lot crowded at this time of the day. There were 16 theaters and the one we were in had many people in it---once again mostly old people like us!! It is quite a contrast to what we experienced at Disney World!!

  1. Y'all act like anybody BUT old folks lives down there! YOUNG people can't take the heat! They've still got blood! Only kids there are grandkids! Visiting. LOL!

I mean to tell you on yesterday's post too - we were in Ocean City a couple of summers ago (I think it was Luz's first trip to the beach) and we had a picnic lunch and one of those bleepin' seagulls came down and SNATCHED that baby's sandwich RIGHT OUT OF HER HAND!!! I think she called that bird every cuss word in the book in Toddler! From then on she was scared of seagulls! No Jonathan Livingston's for HER! They ARE verrrrrrrrrry bold birds!

  2. I can imagine a seagull taking Luz's food out of her hand--maybe they won't try it on larger people. I sure hope not! I remember a trip out west when a raven was hanging around us while we were picnicking. I was scared because it was a huge bird.
