This morning we worshipped at Christ The King Lutheran Church in Orlando. They are in the Missouri Synod.
It was a very traditional service and the Pastor asked the congregation to kneel for the confession. The cross carried by the crucifer had Christ on it and I saw two more crosses in the sanctuary that were the same.
The church building is a modern design and the stained glass windows are very nice. Here is one that particularly interested me. Notice that the Law and Gospel are on scales with the Gospel being ever so slightly heavier.
The altar hanging looked to be handmade. I'd love to see this picture put on a banner or something for our Little Lambs Preschool.
After lunch in our suite, we spent the early afternoon just resting around this Howard Johnson facility. As much as we wanted to watch the Raven's football game, we decided to enjoy the warmer air temps after the TV announcers informed us that it was 31 degrees in Baltimore! Cordell chose to lounge at the pool side.
I ventured past the pool to the lakeside.
There is a 15 acre lake here that is stocked and I just know there is a big bass waiting for me! We did bring our fishing rods and reels, and we can purchase a 3 day license to fish, but since we probably won't have a lot of free time here, we are going to wait until we settle for a longer time.
We drove to Plant City where we met up with my cousins for an early dinner. Cousin Ken and his 4 siblings were there. Along with children, grandchildren, girlfriends and boyfriends, there were 22 of us. It was the birthday for 2 of them and I was grateful that I could celebrate with them. It brought back precious memories when we cousins all lived in Virginia and frequently played together. After more than 50 years we love each other more and more every day and still know how to have fun!!
Before going to the birthday party, we made a stop to buy gifts and look who else was at the Super Target!!
It looks to ME like you shopped at TARGET - not Walmart! :-D
ReplyDeleteI think I would have had to put the book down and get out the fishing pole! Kissimmee is WORLD KNOWN for it's large mouth bass!!!
Cordell - I did view the 360 photo. It works! Very easy - click and drag. :)
